Sometime around August of 2008, in anticipation of the birth of the first of my two sons, I bought my first camera. The prospects of having a family made me think I should have the basic ability to document this new life.
Over the next couple years I learned more and more about photography, our second son was born, and I went to culinary school. While in culinary school, my love for photography grew exponentially. After graduating in 2012, I began putting all my time outside of working a day job and being a husband and father into photography and cinematography. About 18 months of amateur adventures and small paying commissions led me to officially start a business. At the start of 2014 it was official. I had a business named after myself.
For a first year in business, it was a pretty good one, and though the business remained operational, I followed the freelance path to transitioning into full time photography and cinematography. Through 2015 and 2016 I got to work alongside many great artists while curating and honing my skillset, tools and artistic vision.
In August of 2016 I decided it was time for a fresh start, so I renamed the business and launched Sweet Lime Pictures. The name came from one of my favorite writers/directors/filmmakers, Wes Anderson. I would love to create imagery that reflects the influence of Wes Anderson on my taste and perspective, though I would certainly not want to create anything that would be considered copying his work.
Stylistically Sweet Lime Pictures is a blend of documentary and artistic photography and filmmaking. I want all the imagery we create to tell a story in a way that reflects honesty and earnestness while having a sense of humor about it, and at the same time, communicating with poetry and reverence.
Please call or email today and let me know how Sweet Lime Pictures can help tell your story.
